101 in 1001 Update - Completed

2. Send more letters to friends - Since I've moved away, I have written tons of letters. Granted, many of them were to supporters, but some of them were just for fun. More of these to come, I hope!
6. Make a new friend and keep them - I guess by now you KNOW how much I love Sarah and Paul! Also, obviously, all my new Texas friends, of course!

All because of MCA:
13. Move out - Well, for the most part. I guess I still live here when I'm in town, but I live halfway across the country, so I vote that counts.
14. Leave the country - Mexico, anyone?
44. Volunteer at an orphanage - I will post breakdancing orphans videos soon.
47. Get an internship in radio/tv/magazine/movies/photo - I count this because I am putting ads in magazines and doing a lot of video and photo work.
91. Get a job - Yep.
97. Fly alone - Done it so much that I get bored now [which is a good/bad thing].

17. Watch the sunset from my hammock alone - Check.
19. Drink only water for 30 consecutive days (30/30) - Check.
21. Go to a play - Breehan took me to see Beauty and the Beast for my 21st birthday in Nashville.
23. Participate in an organized 5k - Check. But my time was terrible. I'll have to work on that.
26. Laugh until I cry - More than once. But the time I recall was with Tanner at the dinner table.
27. Cook dinner for a friend - Family dinners at MCA.
29. Get moleskin journals - Check.
35. Go thrifting - Check.
36. Say “yes” to something to which I would normally say “no” - I've done this a few times too. The first time I went with a friend to something where I knew I would know no one else. It turned out alright.
39. Get a picture published - The East Tennessean. The Monitor. RGV Mag.
40. My room clean for a month straight (31/31) - I've actually done this twice because my room was clean for the first month in TX.
53. Finish knitting something - All the girls I gave presents to got scarves with their gifts this year

54. Have a big hair day - Check
55. Do something completely embarrassing and memorable - Check. There's a post on here somewhere about it.
58. Design a t-shirt, just for kicks - It's not cool looking, but it's got sparkles.
62. Give someone the perfect gift - Check.
64. Start a slow clap in a crowded place - This was one of my favorite moments of the year.
65. Go to an NBA game - Unfortunately the game I went to was at ETSU where no one really had an alliance to either team, so cheering was minimal.
70. Face a fear - Moving out? Going to Mexico?
77. Get a puppy - Yes, after 10 years of begging, just months before I move across the country, my parents decide to get a puppy.
81. Be picked first for Ultimate Frisbee - Check, but it was on my birthday so I don't know how legit that is. [Probably too legit to quit]
84. Make an awesome mix CD for a random friend - Made one for my friend Trip, and it was goooood.

101 in 1001 Update

6. Make a new friend and keep them
Technically we still haven't been friends all that long, but I do have a new friend or two and I plan to keep them.

13. Move out/14. Leave the country/44. Volunteer at an orphanage/91. Get a job
Today I met with a missionary about working with them for the next school year. It's looking very good. All of these will be accomplished if I go. More details to come.

16. Read 50 books (6/50)
Clearly, I am doing terribly on this one. But I'm reading this book and it's really boring and I can't get through it. [Excuses, I know.]

19. Drink only water for 30 consecutive days (30/30)
Technically I changed this to coffee and water because I decided that I can't live without coffee for 30 days.

21. Go to a play
My bestie bought me tickets to see Beauty and the Beast in Nashville last week. So fun!

29. Get moleskin journals
I got one for graduation and have been writing in it almost every day since my birthday.

40. My room clean for a month straight (31/31)
Done and done.

43. Graduate with a 3.5 GPA or higher
This one is debatable as to whether or not I accomplished it. I graduated Cum Laude but my GPA actually ended up being a 3.44. Oops.

54. Have a big hair day
Check.

55. Do something completely embarrassing and memorable
See here and here.

64. Start a slow clap in a crowded place
One of the best moments of my life for sure. I was chaperoning a youth conference and there were about 200 people in the room. It. Was. Classic.

67. Pet an intense animal - tiger, elephant, giraffe, rhino, etc
I pet a camel but I don't really know if that counts.

77. Get a puppy
Yep! Love my baby, Ivan.

81. Be picked first for Ultimate Frisbee
My little brother picked me first. But it was my graduation day and I told him to so I don't really know if that counts.

84. Make an awesome mix CD for a random friend
Made one for my friend, Trip

5k

Gotta hit the sack because I will be running in a 5k tomorrow thus completing #23 "Participate in an organized 5k"

Yes, it will be cold.
Yes, it will be early.
Yes, my lungs will catch on fire and burn the whole city down.

Nevertheless, I will feel accomplished.

101 in 1001 Update

1. Run 5 miles without stopping
Well, I did go running the other night and did 2 miles without stopping which is really not that big of an accomplishment. I mean, I HAVE run a 5k without stopping but lately I've been pretty bad at running.

16. Read 50 books (1/50)
Finished The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. It was pretty good but it was so looooong. Those girls just talk and talk and it follows them through 50 years. I thought the story would end while they're still in their teenage years but noooo.

26. Laugh until I cry
CHECK! Tanner was moving his mouth while I was talking for him. It was so stupid but way fun!

28. Shoot a gun
I haven't done this yet but I have had a lot of offers for people to take me!

29. Get moleskine journals
CHECK!

35. Go thrifting
CHECK! I got a wolf t-shirt! Ha. I'm such a hipster now.

36. Say “yes” to something to which I would normally say “no”
I got an opportunity to do this on Sunday but had band practice so I still had to say no. Boo.

40. My room clean for a month straight (13/31)
Yeah! This is like some kind of record.

64. Start a slow clap in a crowded place
I've tried SO many times but no one wants to comply. I think I need it to be more crowded anyways.

84. Make an awesome mix CD for a random friend
CHECK! Trip is getting a CD with the following songs on it (You should definitely look them up!):

1. Abba Father - Daniel Doss Band
2. Blue Eyes - Cary Brothers
3. Bulletproof Weeks - Matt Nathanson
4. Can't Let Go - Landon Pigg
5. Flightless Bird, American Mouth - Iron & Wine
6. Hide and Seek - Imogen Heap
7. I'm Ready - Jack's Mannequin
8. If My Heart Was A House - Owl City
9. Just Let Go - Mae
10. Meteor Shower - Owl City
11. Mexico - Jump Little Children
12. Old Fashioned Letters - Jason Reeves
13. September 22nd - Nathan Angelo
14. Stay Awhile - Erick Baker
15. Such Great Heights - Iron & Wine
16. There Is None - The Working Title
17. Who I Am - Nick Jonas and the Administration

Thoughts? Any songs you love that I really need to hear?

101 in 1001 Update

Here's a little update on how my 101 in 1001 is going thus far.

29. Get moleskin journals
Tomorrow I am planning to go to Barnes and Noble to use the gift card I got for Christmas from my best friend to purchase my moleskins!

37. Go on a date with John Taylor
For those of you who don't know who JT is, he is the Jonas Brothers' music director and guitar player. My best friend and I decided on December 28th (right?) that we have 6 months to get a date with John Taylor and Greg Garbo (JB's bassist). Since we're pretty lame when it comes to dudes we have come up with a plan of attack. First we have a workout plan:

1. Work out 4x weekly
2. Twice weekly - Run/Stairstep/Elliptical for 30+ min
3. Twice weekly - Do something physical! Workout video/Wii Fit/Random Cardio
4. Daily - 20+ pushups, 50+ situps, 100+ jumping jacks/jump ropes/butt kicks/etc
5. Twice weekly 20+ minutes strength

Next we have a confidence building plan:

1. Twice weekly - Wake up early, do hair and makeup, wear a cute outfit
2. Have a meaningful conversation with a boy once a week
3. During the semester go on one practice date with a friend
4. Text one boy per week (at least 3 different boys)
5. No negative connotations--verbal or nonverbal-- about your body at all for the entire semester - every time you do, put $.10 in a jar

Yeah, we've totally got this in the bag. HA!

40. My room clean for a month straight (5/31)
Yep, I've kept my room clean for 5 days as of right now!

47. Get an internship in radio/tv/magazine/movies/photo
I was looking at some of these today which sound really exciting but are also a little terrifying! Many of them are in NYC and LA, so I would be very far from home.

84. Make an awesome mix CD for a random friend
Today I made 2 mix CDs for Breehan (bribing her to make me a CD with songs from Glee on it) and a few days ago I made one for another of my friends.

Did anyone else make a 101 in 1001 list? Resolutions? Are you keeping up with them?
